Dr Jaya Rengasamy

Jaya is an experienced doctor with special interests in antenatal care, paediatrics, sexual and reproductive health, refugee health, and drug and alcohol management.

Jaya is accredited to provide shared antenatal care, high-dose vitamin D, Implanon insertion, and medication-assisted treatment for opioid dependency. She also has diplomas in child health and obstetrics/gynaecology, and a certificate in sexual health and family planning.

Jaya enjoys forming relationships with clients of all ages, backgrounds and personalities and finds it rewarding to offer help to people experiencing a significant challenge in their life.

She has worked in rural Victoria, the Melbourne Sexual Health Centre, in a remote community in the Northern Territory, and volunteered in a primary health care centre in rural South India.

Jaya has a Master of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, a Bachelor of Medical Science, and a Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.

When not at the clinic, Jaya loves running, cooking and travelling. Her current project is learning how to do cryptic crosswords.
