Congratulations to the nominees of the 2019 Frank Fisher Award – Ching Ching Liang, Danni Brennan, Ahmed Sayed, Michelle Twyford, Osman Omarit, Sujata Joshi, and the Aged Residential and Outreach Team, comprising volunteers Yanping Liu, Chan Lam Van, Mei Zhen Chen, Kelly Phung and Ruby Johnstone.

Each year at the Annual General Meeting, cohealth celebrates and recognises the continued legacy of Frank Fisher, an advocate for people with disability. Frank Fisher devoted his life’s energy working to ensure that those who are vulnerable are heard, especially on the issues of health and wellbeing, and environmental sustainability.

The 2019 Frank Fisher Award was won by Ching Ching Liang who was recognised for engaging and sharing information with culturally and linguistically diverse communities.

Ching Ching provides health information sessions for the local community at Collingwood Neighbourhood House and Belgium Avenue
on the issues of social equity and the prevention of violence against women and girls.

Ching Ching has also engaged the community around the redevelopment plans for 365 Hoddle Street and contributed to the Royal Commission into Aged Care and the Royal Commission into Mental Health.

Nominated for her work in cohealth’s Youth Advisory Committee
